We've been following the semi-coherent musings of improv enthusiasts Muck Spreader for a while here at TMR. Today, the intriguing outfit announce news of their new sardonically named forthcoming EP Abysmal. Setting itself up to be quite the antithesis, new single 'Take Flight' plays out like an intoxicated trip to the funfair. Evoking an air of mystery and an uncanny desire for escapism that's often associated with the circus coming to town, the accompanying video is a visual nod to the off-kilter track's flighty lyricism. Despite it's seemingly disparate sonic elements, which consist predominantly of deranged synths, spidery guitars and extravagant sax flourishes, 'Take Flight' feels like the aural equivalent of a delicious yet dangerously potent cocktail.
